Slow Movement
Gentle pacing gives fascia the time it needs to soften and release, without pushing, forcing, or bracing.
SloFlow is a gentle fascia-focused practice that helps your body release tension, restore alignment.

Our Approach
Fascia is the connective tissue that weaves through every muscle, organ, and bone. When it becomes compressed or dehydrated, we feel it as stiffness, pain, and disconnection from ourselves.
SloFlow uses slow, intentional somatic movement to gently decompress and rehydrate your fascia. Our hand-finished cedar blocks allow gravity to do the work - releasing fascial compression in ways movement alone cannot reach.
Together, they restore ease, mobility, and a deep sense of groundedness.

Why SloFlow
Gentle pacing gives fascia the time it needs to soften and release, without pushing, forcing, or bracing.
Somatic practice teaches your body that it is safe to let go. Easing any anxiety, reducing cortisol, and restoring a genuine sense of calm.
As fascial tension releases, posture naturally reorganises. Chronic pain softens. Movement becomes easier and more fluid.
Decompressed fascia moves freely. You will notice greater range of motion and a body that simply feels lighter.
SloFlow trains you to listen to your body, rebuilding the trust and connection that stress and injury quietly erode. Your brain begins to remember how to relax those tense muscles.
No experience needed. SloFlow meets every body exactly where it is, at any age or stage of life.
The Practice
Three principles guide every SloFlow session.
Settle into stillness. Slow, conscious breathing signals safety to the nervous system and invites your fascia to soften and release.
SloFlow sessions weave somatic movement together with a hand-finished cedar block, letting gravity and breath do the deeper work. Not straining, just listening. Each movement is an invitation.
Every session ends in stillness. Rest is not optional, it is where the nervous system resets and the body makes the work its own.

Kind Words
Heidi seems to have that lovely (and rare) combination of right brain/left brain thinking. She knows her anatomy, but has whimsically creative ways of envisioning it!

When Heidi shared with me that her life had changed because of a cedar block I knew I wanted to investigate. With compassion, empathy and kindness she showed me the basics. Immediately I sensed there was something in this practice for which my body craved. Each session on the block offers more letting go, more grace and support of wholesome living. Loving myself, on the block. Each breath a coming home.

Bred to be a skeptic I went into this practice on the enthusiasm of Heidi Hunter. I have been blocking now for about 4 months. Since then I have noticed an ease in movement. I can now get in and out of a kayak with minimal difficulty whereas before it was near impossible without a great deal of help. When I stand straight I can no longer grip a roll on either side. Although I have not lost weight, the weight has shifted. Standing taller, breathing and moving easier is melting the skepticism away.

I love it! I feel centred and much more balanced than I ever was. I didn't know a stitch about the diaphragm, nor how replenishing breathing actually is. I breathe! I actually feel as if past trauma has lifted and been breathed away. My core is stronger. My muscles are sore but soothed... I love it!

Before I started Block Therapy, my body always tired very easily, particularly my legs. I had limited flexibility in my shoulders, the beginnings of a dowager's hump, and I used a CPAP machine. Helen adjusted the positions I found challenging and suggested the programs to get the most efficient results. I now have more strength in my legs, more flexibility in my shoulders, my dowager's hump is disappearing, I've lost weight, and don't need the CPAP machine anymore. I can't wait to see my results in the future — it's so exciting.

I am delighted in the changes to improve my posture and in reducing overall body fatigue. I spend many long hours at a desk and tried chiropractic for years. Blocking has provided the most relief. Helen is a wonderful coach that is sensitive and observant. She has a gentle and reassuring tone that makes you feel confident that you are progressing. I cannot recommend her skills to get the most out of blocking enough. Thanks for all you do Helen, and I wish you every success in spreading the transforming power of blocking.
A SloFlow student
SloFlow fascia work with Heidi Hunter has been a game changer. I find myself looking forward to the live classes for the support and accountability. I describe the work as a combination of a moving meditation, breath work, self massage and exercise all rolled into one. After 3 months of regular practice, I'm aware of a deep internal connection to the fascia, muscle tissue and bones in my body, as well as my breath. Heidi is a master guide and teacher!

There is a small but mighty group of people who show up most mornings to release their fascia, laugh about their psoas, and occasionally report that their neck is getting longer.
They are warm. They are a little nerdy about the body. And they are having more fun than you might expect from people lying on wooden blocks.
SloFlow on Skool is where it all happens - live classes with Heidi and Helen, a growing library of recorded sessions, monthly programs, and a community that will make you feel genuinely seen and supported.
